Why have we decided to do something about this?
We understand the education system needs improving.
We know there are limitations which we believe this platform will help solve.
Students should be encouraged to thrive during their education.
How we aim to complete our objectives effectively?
We aim to follow our proposed road map.
Listening to students; weekly discussions and focus groups to ensure we are going in the right direction.
Constant feedback; we aim to have constant feedback from users to help us develop.
Our Proposed Road Map.
Phase 1: Crafting a Community
The idea that hundreds of students across the country study the same course, yet never communicate of collaborate confuses me. This is why we aim to build a central collaboration hub, one where we allow students from all over to engage with each over subjects that they specialize in. These can range from anything in their course, from Woodwork, Metalwork, Electronics, Plastics, Stress & Strain Calculations etc.
Phase 2: Enhancing Education
A key aspect of the platform will be education and predominantly aimed at increasing all students capabilities. As an aspiring student you shouldn’t be limited to what can be taught but encouraged to explore, understand and learn more about your desired degree and course.
Phase 3: Creating Competition
Common knowledge in the design industry is that is very competitive, yet this isn’t outlined enough through Universities. The platform will help will help light this in various ways such as real life briefs and collaboration events. All this will help students stand out to employers and promote employability.
Phase 4: Increasing Individuality
Everyone is unique and has their own interests as well as knowledge of the industry. We want to promote this. Our aim is to allow these individuals to stand out from others by running their own workshops, their own talks and create their own portfolios.
Phase 5: Empowering Employment
Once the individuals have asserted themselves into the platform, we are confident we can then promote employment opportunities. Through their experience on the platform, the students will have a unique selling point to employers helping them to stand out in such a competitive market.
Phase 6: Promoting the Product Design Industry
As a former Product Design student I understand how competitive the industry can be and the fact many people choose to work elsewhere due to various reasons, here we aim to change that. Our objectives are to enhance the Product Design course, have a platform where students can gain key skills and values and in turn help them gain employment or even have the potential to start their own companies.
